Vela not heading to Barcelona

Los Angeles FC's Mexican star Carlos Vela will not be swapping California for Barcelona, according to Univision.

Reports in the Spanish press linked the forward with a shock January switch to Camp Nou.

But Univision quotes an unnamed LAFC source denying any contact has been made from the Blaugrana over a potential transfer.

The LA Times also called any deal for the forward a "longshot".

America looking at NYRB's Kaku

Could Alejandro Romero Gamarra, known simply as Kaku, be Club America's replacement for Diego Lainez?

The Liga MX giant recently sold their talented young star to Real Betis, and ESPN Mexico is now claiming that New York Red Bulls star Kaku is being lined up as a replacement.

The 24-year-old netted six times and added 14 assists in his first season with New York.

Salcedo nearing Tigres move

Mexico center back Carlos Salcedo is set to return to Liga MX by signing with Tigres, according to Fox Deportes.

Currently with Eintracht Frankfurt, the 25-year-old had been linked with a return to Chivas this winter but the report indicates he has agreed to economic terms with Tigres and will fly to Mexico this weekend to sing the deal.

West Ham won't loan Chicharito

Valencia has an agreement with Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez but current club West Ham United won't loan the forward out, according to Marca

Los Che want Hernandez for his scoring abilities and his La Liga experience but the Hammers would require a formal proposal to buy the player. West Ham would let Hernandez, Mexico's all-time leading scorer, go for between €12 million and €15m ($13.3m and $17.1m).

Sevilla and Real Betis also have been mentioned as potential destinations for the forward.

America's Dominguez sale complete

America winger Cecilio Dominguez is leaving the club for Independiente in Argentina, according to Record.

Las Aguilas said earlier in the window that they would let the Paraguayan winger go for a $8 million fee but later asked for $6m and 30 percent of his future sell-on rights. TyC Sports reported the deal will get done with El Rojo buying out the rest of the deal over the next two years at $2.5m.

Herrera’s agent Gabriel Moraes told A Bola: “Herrera hasn’t ruled out staying with Porto," before laying out the list of teams his client had not negotiated with yet.

Milan and Roma set to battle for Herrera

Hector Herrera is a target of both AC Milan and Roma according La Gazetta dello Sport.

The Porto midfielder will not renew his contract in June and, with Financial Fair Play hanging over the club, Milan are interested in players that wouldn't require a transfer fee.

Roma are also in the market, though, although Inter have seemingly pulled out of the race for the Mexico midfielder.

Napoli looking at summer move for Lozano

Mexico winger Hirving Lozano is one of Napoli's summer targets, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 23-year-old PSV player has stood out since moving abroad and garnered attention from a number of top clubs. Now the Partenopei have joined their ranks, with PSV looking for a €35 million ($40m) fee for the former Pachuca man.

Turkey could be next step for 'Gullit'

Carlos "Gullit" Pena has interest from four clubs in Turkey, according to 24 Saat Futbol.

He is back on contract with Rangers but the Scottish club has no interest in retaining his services. A spring loan to Cruz Azul was cut short because of indiscipline and Necaxa cut ties with the player after using him only five teams in the recently concluded Apertura .

Now, he could continue his career with Erzurumspor, Alanyaspor or Caykur Rizespor. First-place Basaksehir also could have interest.
