The issue revolves around Arkansas' Simmons Prepared Foods, Inc. Simmons has issued a precautionary and voluntary recall of approximately 2 million pounds of fresh and frozen chicken products. The USDA adds that the products were shipped to institutions, such as restaurants or schools, in eight states. The states include: Georgia, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Alabama. Arizona, Arkansas, California and Pennsylvania. The department is identifying the recall as a "Class 1.". This means that consumption can result in serious health issues or even fatalities.
